Here are MummyFITs most frequently asked questions about our health club based sessions and on demand workouts which will help you to understand the benefits of exercise, both during and after pregnancy:

SHOULD I STOP EXERCISING IF I BECOME PREGNANT?

Not at all. As long as your exercises are adapted to suit your stage of pregnancy and fitness levels by a level 3 instructor qualified in prescribing exercise programmes for pre and post-natal Mums.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF EXERCISING DURING PREGNANCY AND AFTERWARDS FOR MUM AND BABY?

The Royal College of Obstretrics and Gynaecology (2006) lists a host of benefits to be gained from excercise during pregnancy, including:

  1. maintenance of cardiovasuclar fitness, muscle length and flexibility
  2. maintenance of a healthy weight
  3. improved circulation
  4. improved co-ordination and body awareness
  5. preparation of labour, and assistance in postnatal recovery

HOW SOON CAN I EXERCISE AFTER BIRTH?

You can exercise following your GP check 6 weeks after a normal delivery and 10-12 weeks after a c-section. 10-12 weeks is recommended after a c-section to minimise any potential trauma to your scar and to allow it to heal properly. You shouldn’t be lifting anything heavier than your own baby during this time.

CAN I BRING MY BABY TO MUMMYFIT?

Yes, you can up to the age of 12 months. MummyFIT sessions are specifically designed so that baby can come too making it easier for you to come and join in, get healthy and have fun.

HOW DO I BECOME A MUMMYFIT MEMBER?

Following your first free trial session, you become a MummyFIT member by purchasing a block of 11 or 22 MummyFIT sessions which will also entitle you to free membership to our MummyFIT Members Closed Facebook Group while your sessions are in credit.

CAN I BOOK MY SESSIONS ONLINE?

Yes you can. Once you have attended your first FREE taster session and set-up your MummyFIT account, you will be able to book your sessions for MummyFIT. This can be done by downloading the MummyFIT App to your mobile device and logging in with the details that we have provided to you.  You can also cancel out of sessions on line if you can’t attend for any reason up to 2 hours before the start time of your session and you will not lose your session credit.

HOW LONG DO MY SESSION CREDITS LAST FOR?

Your credits last for 3 or 6 months, depending on the package you purchase, which means they don’t have to be taken consecutively if you can’t make it for any reason. Your credits can be used to book into any MummyFIT session in any location.

DO I HAVE TO BE A HEALTH CLUB MEMBER TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN MUMMYFIT SESSIONS?

No. Members and non-members are all welcome.

HOW DO I CLAIM MY FIRST FREE TASTER SESSION?

You can either enquire through our website using our contact form or call us on 07380 198232. We will complete a pre exercise screening form with you and then book you in to your first FREE taster session.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN MY MATERNITY LEAVE ENDS?

Don’t worry, you can still workout with us.  You can trial MummyFIT ‘At Home’ on demand workouts for 10 days and then sign up for just £6.99 per month to follow along with our 15 minute Express and 30 minute full body workouts to fit around your busy life when you are back at work.  Your monthly subscription also includes cooking videos, recipes and blogs from our health and fitness expert panelists. New content is added every month. 

THERE ISN’T A MUMMYFIT HEALTH CLUB NEAR ME.  CAN I GET ACCESS TO MUMMYFIT WORKOUTS?

Don’t worry, you can still workout with us.  You can trial MummyFIT ‘At Home’ on demand workout videos for 10 days and then sign up for just £6.99 per month to follow along with our 15 minute Express and 30 minute pre and postnatal workout videos. Your monthly subscription also includes cooking videos, recipes and blogs from our health and fitness expert panelists. New content is added every month.  Once MummyFIT Sessions have reach a health club near you, you can come and join us for a FREE taster session and then by purchasing a block of MummyFIT sessions.

WHY DO I HAVE TO GIVE MY PAYTMENT DETAILS WHEN SIGNING UP TO A 10 DAY FREE TRIAL OF MUMMYFIT AT HOME?

Payment is not taken within your first 10 day trial period.  At any point within this 10 day period you have a right to cancel and your payment card will not be charged.  On the first day after your 10 day trial your payment card will be charged £6.99 per month each month until you cancel.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY MUMMYFIT ‘AT HOME’ SUBSCRIPTION?

We would hate to see you go.  If you would like to cancel your subscription, please email us at athome@mummyfituk.co.uk.  Please give a minimum of 48 hours notice of cancellation before your next payment is due.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH MUMMYFIT ‘AT HOME’ WORKOUTS ARE RIGHT FOR ME?

It’s important to watch the introductory videos and ab check video and read all the exercise guidelines before taking part in any MummyFIT ‘At Home’ Workout to make sure that your select which workout is right for you.  The profile which you create for yourself will recommend which workouts you should complete based on how many week pregnant or post pregnancy you are.

There are 4 levels of workouts to choose from: MummyFIT PRE Natal, MummyFIT POST Natal, MummyFIT REGULAR and MummyFIT PRO.
